It is the method by which we take full control of ourselves.

Meditation may seem difficult for some people. Or a process that requires some special abilities. Or an optional activity that only a yogi do. Or a religious process that is against / different to the religion we were born with. All these are false associations. Meditation is none of the things mentioned in this paragraph.

Meditation is something natural, with which the body and mind can easily become accustomed. But just as in sports, for example, it takes a bit of exercise to gain confidence in us that we can meditate. The more relaxed about this exercise / process, the easier it will be, the more natural. More about what happens to our minds and our body when we meditate, find here.

Pure meditation is just an exercise for the mind and body to take over ourselves, that is, our self, control over the mind and body. Or – simpler – to become more aware of our mind and body and to cause them to fully listen to us. There are several aspects of meditation, but we will stop here for the time being – as you practice meditation and as you read, you will learn about its new benefits.

Pure meditation is an exercise / process that is important to do as often as possible. Daily, basically. Just as for the body, we need physical exercises, daily movements to keep it functional, in shape, likewise the mind needs regular exercises. If you have an arm or a leg fixed (still) for a longer period of time – for example in plaster – such as for 2-3 months or longer, when you lose the gypsum you find that the muscles have diminished, even have atrophied. The same thing happens with the mind: it needs to be used daily.

Meditation does not require any special abilities. You do not have to be a yogi, you do not need to be in a cave somewhere far in the Himalayas. You do not have to dedicate yourself to any religions, casts, sects, etc. to meditate. No one gives you any extra skill to meditate. What different people can do is guide you, give you confidence, and help you find the best way to meditate.

Meditation is not a religious process. It does not have to be. Yes, there are religions – like Buddhism – that include meditation as a process that gives it different valences, values, different interpretations of its own. Including prayer in Christian, Catholic or Orthodox religion – it does not matter, is also a kind of meditation.

Below we will continue to give you information on meditation by answering various questions, so that you are clear about all the details and understand the extraordinary role that meditation has in our lives, how much and how it helps and transforms us.

Dear fully,

Sebastian and Catalina

March 23, 2019, on the plane home

How does meditation help us in everyday life?

What happens to our mind and body when we meditate?

Meditation is yoga?

Meditation is an exercise for mind and body.
